Balancing Acts: Design Leader and Faculty Member Sally Chung

Season 1 Episode 2

Who says you can't be a designer and educator and entrepreneur and hackathon host all at once?

Co-host Sasha interviews the multi-hyphenate Sally Chung (sallyhychung.com), a design leader, SVA interaction design faculty member, and start-up co-founder and advisor based in New York City. Sally shares invaluable insights on:

  • managing multiple roles and what work-life balance looks like as a designer and entrepreneur
  • her journey from South Korea to New York City, teaching at SVA, and spearheading SVA's first ever Design Hackathon
  • speaking your clients' language as a creative and turning your passion project into your full-time job

Sally recently launched Designpreneurs & Co., through which she delivers end-to-end design and product development services to a range of clients. Sally brings a human-centered approach to the earliest stages of product development & consulting, when the problems (and solutions) are at their vaguest. Through a disciplined process of UX research & strategy, feature development, and product market fit validation, she transforms early-stage business problems into live product solutions within months.
